Prof. Lea Waters
Professor Lea Waters (Ph.D.) is a researcher psychologist, consultant, author and public speaker.
Lea is president-elect of the International Positive Psychology Association. Her work has been recognised at the highest levels including the Marquis Who's Who in the World. She works to bring positive psychology to children, teenagers, parents, schools and organisations in order to enhance their mental health. Lea has been a registered psychologist for 22 years and a researcher at the University of Melbourne, Australia, for 20 years. She has been awarded 2 National University Teaching Excellence Awards by the Australian Government. In 2015 she was listed in the Top 100 Women of Influence in Australia by the Financial Times and Westpac Bank. Her TEDx talk looks at the effect of social media on our positive moods. LARA MOSSMAN
Mother of three, Lara, received a Master of Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Melbourne, Australia, in 2014. She also holds a Master of Arts in Philosophy with Historical Studies. She is passionate about building resources that draw on the science of well-being, particularly for parents and adolescents.
Lara is a Teaching Assistant and Tutor at the University of Melbourne where she also leads the social media for the Centre for Positive Psychology. She is a PhD candidate at La Trobe University studying adolescent wellbeing in sport. Lara's enjoys exploring mindfulness, growth mindset, flow and character strengths. She is a member of the Positive Psychology Interest Group committee. One of Lara's main interests is football (soccer). She is an active player and supporter.
